Man caught stealing ram at Ebonyi market

There was jubilation at the early hours of Thursday when a middle aged man identified as Obinna Boniface, 32, of Igidagu village, in Okpitumo Community, Abakaliki LGA of Ebonyi State, was caught by the youths of the community for allegedly stealing a ram belonging to one Mrs. Agnes John.

It was gathered that the man was caught at Nwanwu market around 9:00 pm with the stolen ram when he was about to escape and thoroughly beaten by the enraged youths who interrogated and extracted confessional statements from him.

However, the suspect told our reporter that he is a wheel barrow -pusher and was coming  home from  Abakaliki  when he ran out of cash  and decided  going home on foot when a group of youths came and began interrogating and beating him.
