Six feared dead as gunmen attack Imo police command again
Some gunmen on Monday razed the Okigwe South Police Division in Orieagu in the Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.
A police officer at the station told our correspondent that the gunmen on arrival opened fire on the cops who challenged them.
He added that the invaders had freed all the suspected and made away with arms and other weapons.
The source said that no fewer than six police men were shot dead by the attackers who also torched the security facility.
The source said, “Our division in Okigwe South is on fire. Six policemen were shot dead by gunmen. They also freed the suspects before setting fire to the facility.”
A community source who does not want his name mentioned, said that the villagers has fred.
The police spokesperson in the state, Orlando Ikeokwu, said five policemen were killed while one was missing.
