1 Full name: Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu
2 The amiable politician is the current governor of Lagos State, the centre of excellence.
3 Workaholic Sanwo-Olu was sworn-in as the 15th Governor of Lagos State on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, amid plaudits and celebrations.
4 Cerebral Sanwo-Olu has a BSc in Surveying and an MBA, from the University of Lagos.
5 The highly focused Governor is also a proud alumnus of the revered John F. Kennedy School of Government, the London Business School and Lagos Business School, respectively.
6 Unknown to many, Sanwo-Olu began his illustrious political career in 2003, when he was appointed Special Adviser on Corporate Matters, to the then former deputy governor of Lagos, Femi Pedro.
7 He was later elevated to the position of acting commissioner for economic planning and budget.
8 Kind-hearted Sanwo-Olu was in 2007 appointed the commissioner for commerce and industry by then governor Bola Tinubu.
9 Under the Fashola administration, this humble governor, also served as the commissioner for establishments, training and pensions.
10 Sanwo-Olu also served as the MD/CEO of the Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSDPC) during the Ambode administration.
11 Very articulate Sanwo-Olu also set up and became the pioneer board chairman of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund.
12 As a visionary leader, the LAGBUS system and the Command and Control Centre in Alausa, Lagos were established under his supervision and directives.
13 The result-oriented governor also supervised the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) privatisation projects in Lagos.
14 Sanwo-Olu, also a revered banker, was the treasurer at former Lead Merchant Bank between 1994 and 1997.
15 He also worked at UBA, as the head of foreign money market and later joined First Inland Bank, now FCMB, as deputy general manager and divisional head.
16 The multiple award-winning governor, was also the chairman of Baywatch Group and First Class Group, respectively.
17 Sanwo-Olu is a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Training and Development (NITAD).
18 He is also an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM).
19 Sanwo-Olu who is currently and rapidly changing the face of Lagos State with developmental projects was born on June 25, 1965.
20 The very friendly and likeable governor is happily married to his sweet heart, Dr. Mrs. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu.
