Alleged false alarm: PDP leader charged with terrorism by Imo govt
The Imo State Government has arraigned the Imo State Director-General of the Peoples Democratic Party’s New Media Centre, Ambrose Nwaogwugwu, for terrorism for accusing Governor Hope Uzodinma of “secretly approving Rural Grazing Reserves for Fulani herdsmen”.
Nwaogwugwu was also said to have accused Governor Uzodinma of planning to rename the Imo State University after the late Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari.
A copy of the charge sheet, marked 0W/217c/2020, stated that the 29-year-old Nwaogwugwu also accused the governor of constructing a Rural Grazing Area for Fulani herdsmen.
The defendant also allegedly accused Uzodinma of planning to divert N5.2bn meant for pensioners in the state.
The state government also slammed four other charges against the 29-year-old.
The remaining charges bordered on cyberbullying, defamation, and attempting to incite citizens of the state against Uzodinma, who became governor of the state in January following a Supreme Court judgment. Punch
