The All Progressives Grand Alliance has again zoned the national chairman’s seat of the party to Anambra State.

The National Chairman of the party, Chief Victor Oye, disclosed this on Saturday to our correspondent in Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

He said from the rules he met on the ground, there was a structural arrangement to keep the national chairmanship seat of the party in Anambra for the time being.

He said, “That’s the structure we met on ground when we assumed office in 2015 and we have not seen any cause to change it.”
Since 2003 Anambra State has retained the national chairman’s seat of the party through Chief Victor Umeh who served for two tenures and handed to Chief Victor Oye in 2016.

Oye who described Anambra State as the seat of APGA said the national convention of the party for this year had been scheduled to take place in Awka, the Anambra State capital on May 27,2019.
While saying that APGA had carved a niche for itself in the Nigerian polity, Oye disclosed that the party realised N1.3bn from sale of forms in the 2019 electioneering.

He said after all expenses in the elections, the party had N940m intact in the bank.

Oye who said he inherited N40m when he took over the leadership of the party in 2015 expressed sadness that after working so hard for the party some members of the party would still castigate and impugn his integrity.

He said,”I have not deliberately offended anybody in the course of my duty as the national chairman of this great party.

“During our our primaries in 2019, I didn’t send anybody out to do untoward things for me. I sent them to go and do good jobs for our party and bring me result. If anybody went there to do any dirty thing, it was his integrity that he destroyed not mine nor of the party.

“The primaries had come and gone. Everybody won’t win the primaries; some will win. I can’s understand where these grievances are coming from.

“However, I’m not perturbed. It’s only God that can decide our faith in life. Only God can crown a king; and when God anoints you, no man can undo the anointing.” Punch
