Ebony TV boss, Mo Abudu, on Glo-sponsored African Voices

Founder of Ebony Television, Mo Abudu, will this week feature on Cable News Network’s (CNN) African Voices Changemakers.
The magazine programme which is sponsored by Globacom will be on CNN Channel 401 on DSTV on Saturday at 9.30 a.m. with repeats on Sunday 4.30 a.m., 7.30 a.m., 12.30 p.m. and 7.30p.m. and on Monday at 12.30 a.m. and 5.30 a.m.
Abudu will share the story of how she became renowned as one of the few passionate entrepreneurs who have raised the bar of the film and television industry in Africa. She created Moments with Mo, an educative and entertaining programme, which was on television for many years prior to establishing EbonyLife Television in 2006. The station airs in Nigeria as well as in 49 other African countries, the Caribbean Island and the United Kingdom.
The 56-year-old media mogul has produced or worked as executive-producer of several television drama series including Desperate Housewives Africa in partnership with Disney, Sons Of The Caliphate, Castle & Castle, On the Real and The Governor, all of which have aired on ELTV.
Her EbonyLife Films which was founded in 2014 has produced popular films including The Wedding Party which was adjudged the highest-grossing blockbuster of all time in the Nigerian film industry. She soon followed with The Wedding Party 2, The Royal Hibiscus Hotel, Chief Daddy, Your Excellency and Òlòtūré which also became instant hits in the Nigerian film industry.
Abudu has received several awards for her amazing successes in her endeavours. These include the Forbes Africa recognition as the first African woman to own a Pan-Africa TV channel in 2013; one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Global TV by The Hollywood Reporter in 2013 and was a recipient of the Entrepreneur of the Year award by Women Work in New York in 2014.
