Eid-el-Fitr: Rohr grants Musa, Shehu two days break

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has granted Ahmed Musa and Shehu Abdullahi two days off to observe the Ramadan fasting, as well as celebrate Eid-el-Fitri, The PUNCH reports.

The Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting.

Muslims around the world also bid Ramadan farewell, by celebrating Eid el-Fitr, marking the end of the Muslim holy month.

The pair, devoted Muslims, is expected to join up with the rest of the Eagles in their Asaba camp on Wednesday as the three-time African champions intensify preparations for the 32nd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations billed for Egypt from June 21 to July 20.

The team had their first training session on Monday morning at the Stephen Keshi Stadium and will have two training sessions today (Tuesday).

It remains to be seen if Musa and Abdullahi will feature in Saturday’s international friendly against Zimbabwe at the Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba.

The Eagles will depart Nigeria on Sunday for Ismaila, Egypt for their final training camp ahead of the AFCON 2019 tournament.

The Eagles’ last pre-tournament friendly is against Senegal, billed for the Ismailia Stadium on June 16.

Nigeria face Burundi, Madagascar and Guinea in Group B of the tournament.
