Former Flying Eagles midfielder, Martins Nnabugwu Ekwueme ended the season with his Polish club Lechia Zielona Gora in grand style after helping them to secure a 2-2 drama against ROW Rybnik last weekend.

Ekwueme was in sensational form as he scored a stunning long-range screamer at the  Mosir arena stadium. His 13th minute goal was the first for the visitors.

The one time Sigma Olomouc and Polonia Warsaw star got the ball near the halfway line before going on a darting run past several Rybnik players through the vast of space offered to him.
The left footed midfielder covered some ground with his run before unleashing a thunderbolt from outside the 18-yard box leaving the goalkeeper with no chance of getting close to the ball as it landed into the bottom corner of the net.

Speaking on the magnificent volley goal already in contention for Goal of the Season award in Poland, Ekwueme described it as one of the best in his career.

“I have scored so many goals in my career but this one is unique. It’s special to me. It’s one of the best ever so far, if not the best. Our aim was to win the league but unfortunately for us it didn’t happen. All the same,  I am glad we finished the season on a respectable note,” the elated midfielder exclusively told Daylight Sports on phone from his base in Poland via WhatsApp.
