Horror: Truck crushes Lagos woman after falling off vehicle

A female passenger has died while six others sustained severe injuries in a road accident that occurred at New Castle Bus Stop, inward Gbagada, along the Oworonsoki-Apapa Expressway in Lagos.

The spokesperson for the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Adebayo Taofiq, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.

Taofiq said the incident, which happened over the weekend, involved a Volkswagen commercial bus with registration number LSD 654 XY that reportedly veered off the road and rammed into a roadside culvert.

According to him, the impact of the collision threw a female passenger out of the vehicle onto the expressway.

He said an oncoming articulated trailer approaching the scene was unable to stop in time and ran over the passenger, resulting in her immediate death.

He stated, “Reports revealed that a Volkswagen commercial bus (LSD 654 XY) veered off course and violently rammed into a roadside culvert along the corridor.” The impact of the collision forcefully ejected a female passenger from the vehicle onto the expressway, with 6 others seriously injured with multiple fractures.
