If you can’t show us to the world, then don’t nominate us – Wizkid comes for international awards organizers

Nigerian musician Wizkid has spoken on discrimination against African artistes perpetuated by international award bodies .

The Manya crooner revealed why he doesn’t bother going for some award shows

 According to reports, some international award bodies recognize African artistes backstage especially when presenting them with an award Nigerian musician, Wizkid recently spoke up on discrimination faced by most African artistes during international award shows. 

According to reports, some of the organisers spend all their time and resources celebrating their own while they recognise African entertainers backstage, even when presenting them with an award. 

The Starboy, who recently bagged the MOBO award for best international act, beating the likes of JayZ, Kendrick and Drake stated explicitly the reason he doesn’t bother showing up for such awards.

Speaking to NBS TV, the Manya crooner revealed that the level of discrimination is high and he refuses to be awarded for his work backstage like a lower class citizen.

When asked about such award shows, he said: “That is why I don’t attend those shows, They always wanna look down on us, If you can’t show us to the world, then don’t nominate us, we are content with what we have, we are proud Africans.” Watch him speak on the matter below:

Meanwhile, Wizkid is to feature alongside other American stars on rapper Jeezy’s album as earlier reported by NAIJ.com.
