Israel destroys home of Palestinian who killed three

The IDF destroyed early Wednesday morning the home of the Palestinian terrorist who killed three Israelis in the settlement of Har Adar, just outside Jerusalem, in September.

The operation was carried out in coordination with Israeli Border Police forces and the Coordinator for Government Activities in the Territories.

September’s attack was the first terrorist attack in the 31-year history of the settlement that abuts the Green Line.

The attacker, 37-year-old Nimer Mahmoud Ahmad Jamal, was a father of four from the West Bank village of Beit Surik, near Ramallah.

After an exchange of gunfire, Jamal was shot dead, but not before fatally injuring three people and severely wounding another.

The victims were named as Border Police officer Solomon Gavriya, 20, of Be’er Ya’acov, and security guards Youssef Othman, 24, of Abu Gosh, and Or Arish, 25, of Har Adar.

Jamal was well-known and trusted in Har Adar, where he worked privately for a number of families.

On the morning of the attack, Jamal hid a gun under his jacket and headed to the gate, as he normally did. But the jacket, an unusual item in the September heat, aroused the suspicion of the security officers who called him over for a special inspection.

Jamal “pulled out a pistol he had in his possession, and fired at close range at the security guards and the [Border Police] officer,” police said.

Hamas and Islamic Jihad praised the deadly attack at Har Adar.

“The operation this morning in northern Jerusalem is a new chapter of the Jerusalem intifada and… an affirmation that our uprising youth will continue to fight until the people and land are completely liberated,” said Hamas spokesman Hazim Qassim following the attack.

Islamic Jihad said the attack “embodies the living conscience of the Palestinian people and cause.”

“The blessed [operation] is a slap in the face of normalizers and conspirators and it says to all the people of the land that it is not possible to neglect one iota of Jerusalem’s soil or accept Zionists who are assailing [it],” Islamic Jihad spokesman Daoud Shahab said in a statement. .jpost.com
