Opinion: It is about time – By FOLA OJO

What is difficult in the eyes of man is a no-brainer in the calculations of God. A task that is impossible with man is possible with God. A path that seems impassable for man is an expressway before Him. Any problem that seems unsolvable by men is a light thing before our Maker. A condition that seems unchangeable will change when the Almighty purposes and proposes a change. A stumbling block that seems irremovable will move at the blast of His nostrils. A life that seems irredeemable in the eyes of man, the power of Him that changes all things will change it in a heartbeat. God does all of these in time.

He is the Father and Creator of time. He makes all things glowingly beautiful by His fighting fingers in His own set time. Is it not sweet and relieving to know that God of heaven is not time-controlled but a time-controlling Jehovah? Is it not sweet and relieving to know that He is not held-bound by time? Yes! God is beyond time. He did not come into existence at some point within time. He is the source of everything created any time. Instead of having a beginning that began with time, He is the Beginning and the End; and there was no beginning of Him and no ending possible.

Watch time if the world has adjudged you a successful person.  Your success must always ring an alarm in your heart that you must do good to others this time and beyond. So, don’t waste time before you help others and your nation. One step in the right direction is worth more than 100 years thinking about it! Time is like a speed train. It keeps its schedule at every station and without stopping whether we do good or bad. You may delay your moves. But time moves without delay. Time never wastes itself. It is men who waste time. Wasted time does not hurt time. It hurts men and their destinies.

If you are in trials, tribulations and many other troubles; understand that Change will come with time.  Think about these stories I read in the Greatest Book ever. If man was in charge of determining the destiny of a woman called Sarah, she would have died without having an Isaac. If Peninnah and her children had their ways, Hannah would have lived in shame and died childless without breastfeeding Samuel. If promotion had been left in the hands of men, a man called Jephthah, the son of a prostitute, and a man who was ostracised from his city by his own people, wouldn’t have become a captain of the same people who once rejected him. At the time set by the One who sets time for His own glory, the people indicated in this story eventually laughed. Think about your personal story. If your chances of doing well in life were left in the hands of haters, your frustrating yesterday may still continue till today. But here you are today; but the Creator of time in His own time stepped into your orbit and stepped you up.

Some ignorant mean menaces tormenting other human beings often think they are God. Next time you run into them, ask where were they when God poured the concrete of the foundations of the earth? Where were they when God decided the size of the planet and then drew its blueprints with His fingers? When God created the ocean and made its water gush forth like a baby from mummy’s womb, where were your naysayers? Who among men has the power to command the morning to break, and the dawn to set? Who among homo-sapiens has the power to order the sun to shine and the moon to give its radiance? Who among us knows where light comes from and where darkness goes? Who among us has ever travelled to the secret location where God made the snow and winter; where lightning is launched, or from where the wind blows? God did all of these in time without the approval of men He created in time.

Time yields its treasures only to those who know and recognise it. Those who don’t know the time; time out permanently. People who get behind the time will be left behind by the God of time and seasons. When your appointed time comes visiting, welcome it.

People who go ahead of time will never get ahead in life. A door is a door because of its ability to open and close. When God’s door opens and you are still dilly-dallying if you need to swing through, remember that what makes it a door is its ability to also close. Take advantage of a door when God and time open it before you. Whatever opens can close; my friend. Waste not time.

A healthy person is able to wave his hands, shake his legs, open his mouth; and wag his head.  But if he loses his ability to move about as a result of illness, he appreciates more the time he was able to move his limbs. We can move to the north and to the south, and to the east and west. We can climb hills and descend down mountains. Everything we do; houses we build, cars we buy, careers we build, and all manner of dreams we are able to dream within time are things we can control. Time is not in our control. The king and the Queen are both bound to time. Time controls us. Time flies. Everything happens quickly. And sometimes, time crawls. Things go too slow before they happen. At other times, it feels that time has stopped for a moment. All things are status quo. But, no! Time does not stop. It moves on; and we move with it as it moves. Don’t be fooled by the springing forward of the clock in the spring. And not deceived by the falling backwards of the watch in the fall. What is springing forward and falling backward is the clock; not Time. We cannot hasten the passage of time, or turn it back. Time that is used is gone. Time that is unused is wasted. Time that is abused will catch up with the abuser.

God, during creation; set time. Men recalibrated it in seconds, minutes and houses on a clock; and days, weeks, months and years in a calendar. A new day breaks at one second past the midnight hour. A used and wasted day ends at midnight. We all count hours and expecting a prayer to be answered; a door to open or shut; a contract to be signed; a marriage to consummated; or a child to be born. And we expect answers to our prayers get as we wait on time. But all of a sudden at a time unknown to man; at the 11th hour; one hour before a day ends; God who is the creator of time just shows up; and your adversaries are pissed off. Expect your time to come; and respect it when it does. It’s about time. Punch
