National chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, has disclosed plans by the party to immortalize its former chairman, Board of Trustees, BoT, and former Minister of Works, Chief Tony Anenih who passed on recently. Anenih Secondus gave the pledge when he led a delegation of the PDP National Working Committee, NWC, to the Sunrise Hills Estate, Abuja residence of the former Police Officer Tuesday on a condolence visit.

The PDP chairman said Anenih mentored a legion of leaders in the country adding that the late political leader was not just an elder Statesman but “a fountain of wisdom that we often run to, to get wisdom and advise.” He added that Anenih’s name “cannot be erased from the historical books of Nigeria. When historians write about Nigeria all through the republics, Tony Anenih’s name will be there.” Continuing, Secondus said “there are no words to describe our great father and leader who among others founded the PDP. He worked tirelessly from 1998 to 2015; he worked hard to groom the PDP.” He recalled how Anenih located and setup the PDP presidential campaign office popularly called Legacy House, where he “did all the work to return Olusegun Obasanjo, late Umaru Musa Yar’ Adua and Goodluck Jonathan.” Secondus credited Anenih with turning the shocking defeat of PDP 2015 to a revival, adding that he willingly gave the party leadership encouragement and strategy which led to the mass return of members who had become politically aloof. He said, “We applied all the strategies and advice and in the process, governors came back to the party.

National Assembly members defected to the party. This was as a result of the advice he gave and as children, we took them and today PDP has become the party of choice for all Nigerians. “We had wished that God would spare him to enjoy the fruits of his labour, not by any other means but to see the party return to power. We will never forget all the works of Anenih to the PDP.” Ranieri coy on Roma link     He assured the family that the party will always be with them, even as he called for the involvement of the party in the burial preparations of the Esan High Chief. “He has given so much to the party. We want to participate fully at this point in time. The governors will also do their part and we will give him a befitting burial.” Okowa support groups urged to redouble efforts   Responding on behalf of the family, the deceased’s eldest surviving son, Tony Anenih Jr, who received the delegation, thanked the party leadership, noting that their father was a dedicated and loyal party man.
