A major breakthrough in sports is set to hit the Nigerian educational system as our world-class school in Abuja teams up with former Super Eagles legendary striker and coach Samson Siasia and and Spanish football champions FC. Barcelona, to launch an all round sports academy. Whiteplains British School who recently made headlines at its 10th year anniversary celebrations with its decision to make top quality education affordable for Africa’s working class by reviewing its fees in order to give both international and local students equal opportunities of getting a world-class education in a highly purpose driven and sophisticated educational atmosphere.
The football Academy is therefore yet another passionate attempt by the school’s management in building a global educational environment: this time in the area of sports. The Sports Academy is located in the school’s premises at Jabi Abuja:It is a state of the art facility with all the modern tools and equipment to run effectively as a sports facility built to Olympics standard with sports such as football, , beach volleyball, volleyball, basketball, lawn tennis, table tennis, handball, badminton, athletics (field and track), swimming, recreational horse riding and so much more… It may also be recalled that in the recent past, Whiteplains British School broke amazing records when its teenagers under”The Workshop” initiative developed modern and future technology building drones out of wooden rulers and electric motors, developed social media websites, android apps, online electronic selling systems to mention a few.
The WORKSHOP not relenting also followed those successes with first of its kind innovation by developing WBS iBook (that can be read at night, plays audio book version of itself and and charges your device), WBS smart mirror (that takes pictures and does video blogging) and also pouches that come with hard-drive storage and inbuilt batteries to charge your phone.
