Tragedy! Edo, Delta, Bayelsa police mourn ACP

The Zone 5 Police Headquarters has commiserated with the Delta State Command over the death of the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Ughelli Area Command, Usman Ndanbabo.

Ndanbabo was reported to have died on Tuesday from the gunshot injuries he sustained when he was attacked by gunmen in the area last Sunday.

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the zone, Abubakar Mohammed, in a statement by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Emeka Iheanacho, on Wednesday, described the death of the area commander as shocking and painful.

Mohammed, who also condoled with the family of the late ACP, described Ndanbabo ‎as a courageous and committed police officer, who would be greatly missed.

He said, ‎”It is a very great loss. We want to commiserate with the family on the demise of this distinguished officer who was attacked on Sunday by unknown assailants.

“The news of his death came to us as a shock and we pray that Almighty God grants his soul eternal rest. He was a seasoned police officer.”

Meanwhile, the police zonal headquarters said that it has adopted  “new and robust” strategies to curtail the rate of armed robbery, herdsmen-farmers conflicts in Edo, Delta and Bayelsa States.Punch
