1 Name: Pete Edochie.

2 He is a revered Nigerian actor, Nollywood veteran and national icon cum brand.

3 Edochie, unarguably one of Africa’s most talented and celebrated actors was born on March 7, 1947.

4 The disciplinarian father of six, who holds the national honour of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON), is also a seasoned broadcaster and administrator.

5 The legendary thespian came into prominence in the 80s when he played the lead role of Okonkwo in NTA’s adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s globally acclaimed novel, Things Fall Apart.

6 Edochie who got into radio broadcasting in 1967 at the age of 20, spent 31 years in the broadcasting industry before quitting.

7 The Nollywood giant fondly called Ebubedike, was trained at the prestigious School of Journalism and Television in England.

8 Multiple awards winning Edochie who hails from Nteje, in Oyi LGA of Anambra, had his early childhood in Zaria, Kaduna state.
