The Federal Government has confirmed the death of 13 of the 15 miners trapped in a mine pit collapse in Jabaka village, Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, last Thursday.
The confirmation was contained in a statement by the Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Segun Tomori, in Abuja yesterday.
The Minister, Dr. Dele Alake, has directed the deployment of Federal Mines officers to lead the rescue, in collaboration with state officials.At the time of filing the report, two trapped persons were yet to be recovered. Nation
