2019: Ezeife lampoons el-Rufai for saying no alternative to Buhari

Former governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife yesterday took a swipe on Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State for saying there is no alternative to President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019. Ezeife – El-Rufai In a telephone conversation with Vanguard, Dr. Eziefe said the Kaduna State governor should not be taken seriously even as he argued that a Buhari’s Presidency is not in the best interest of Nigeria.

 

Questioning the governor’s rationale for making the statement, the elder statesman urged Nigerians not to forget that El-Rufai’s support for Buhari may not be unconnected with his own political career. He said: “Is Governor El-Rufai being honest? Is he not eyeing the Presidency? What does the continuation of Buhari’s Presidency translates to for the average Nigerian?” he asked amongst other related question.

 

According to the bearded ex-governor, the electorate will in 2019 make a decision, noting that Nigerians are not unaware of some politicians struggling to save their political careers ahead of the next general elections. “Let me say that Nigerians know why these kinds of statement are being made today.
