Obi
Supporters of the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, under the banner of the Obidient Movement, have commenced early mobilisation for the 2027 general elections, declaring that they will not allow a repeat of the last poll.
The mobilisation drive, which recently moved to Uyo in Akwa Ibom State, is also being channelled into the African Democratic Congress as a political platform ahead of the next presidential race.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the National Coordinator of Obidient Movement Worldwide, Yunusa Tanko, said the movement was consolidating its structures across wards and local government areas in preparation for 2027.
He said, “This is Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, as we continue to mobilise into the ADC. The strong words of His Excellency Peter Obi are very clear: we will not allow a repeat of what happened in the 2023 election.
“In 2027, you will either count the votes correctly, or you will be counted. We must all be ready to defend our votes.”
Tanko urged supporters across the state to intensify grassroots organising.
“My dear brothers and sisters of the Obidient Movement in Akwa Ibom State, I bring you warm greetings and unwavering hope. From the creeks to the cities, from every village square to every university campus, from every market and professional circle — the time has come to arise in your numbers,” he said. Punch
