Absence at show: Firm slams N5bn lawsuit on Psquare’s Peter

Mr. P

PETER Okoye aka Mr P is currently locked in a legal tussle with a sports agency, West Africa States Development Forum.

The P-Square half has locked horns with WAYSDF over his absence at the WAYSDF & EYC Championship League Inauguration in Asaba, Delta State on June 16, 2019.

The sports agency is also aggrieved over Okoye’s alleged refusal to refund the part payment of his appearance fee, N2.8 million.

According to Hilma Charles, Director of Youths and Sports and a board member of WAYSDF, Okoye refused to show up for the event, hence portraying the organisers in a bad light as other music acts attended the event.

In a suit filed in 2020 at the High Court of Anambra State in the Idemili Judicial Division, Holden at Ogidi, the organisation is demanding N5 billion as damages from Okoye for bringing the event into disrepute.

The Nation reached out to  Okoye’s manager Emem Ema to get a reaction to the allegation and she confirmed the legal tussle. Emem also disclosed that since it’s a legal matter, she won’t be able to comment on the matter, hence, would leave it to the court to determine right and wrong. Nation
