Former Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike, has joined Belgian second division club, KVC Westerlo as a free agent, Sports Extra reports.

Emenike, who last played a competitive match in October 2017 with Las Palmas, successfully underwent trials with Bob Peeters’ side before being handed a deal.

The details of the deal were however not disclosed by the club.

“Delighted to be back,” Emenike wrote on Instagram after completing his move to Westerlo.

“Thank you Westerlo for making me feel at home and welcome. Let’s get some wins and go for the title. Project promotion.”

The 32-year-old previously featured for Fenerbahce, Spartak Moscow, West Ham, Olympiakos and Las Palmas.

Capped 32 times by Nigeria, Emenike scored nine goals for the Eagles and was a member of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winning squad in South Africa.

Westerlo are second in the Belgian second-tier table with 13 points from their opening six games. Punch
