Again, gunmen kill three in Plateau attacks


GUNMEN have killed a vigilante identified as Joseph Swanta in Gwa-Pwana village, Vwang District, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

It was learnt that Swanta was killed alongside a 70-year-old man, Davou Dalyop, as well as Davou Mwantiri, aged 59, when the gunmen attacked their house in the early hours of Wednesday

The lawmaker representing Jos South in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Fom Gwattson, was not willing to comment on the killings when contacted but a resident from the Emancipation Centre for Crisis Victims in Nigeria, Solomon Mwantiri, confirmed the incident to our correspondent in Jos on Wednesday

Mwantiri said, “It was while the vigilante man was trying to find out what was happening that he was shot dead by the attackers. They also killed another man whose name was given as Dalyop Davou and also went away with another person identified as Adegoke Olafunke before disappearing into the nearby bush. Until now, the man who was abducted has not been seen.”

Spokesman of the Plateau State Command, Ubah Gabriel, said the matter had yet to be reported to him and promised to get back to our correspondent after getting details of the incident. Punch
