Amaechi APC faction deceiving members, Abe group alleges, as Rivers crisis worsens

Amaechi and Abe

A faction of the All Progressives Congress  in Rivers State loyal to Senator Magnus Abe has said the crisis rocking the party is beyond the courts, urging its national leadership to intervene.

Igo Aguma, who is still laying claim to the leadership of the party in the state, stated this during a press conference in Port Harcourt on Friday.

Aguma expressed the optimism that calm would return to the party if the leadership of the party would fully wade in and do what is right to save the party in the state.

He alleged that the faction of the party loyal to the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, is still playing politics of deceit, pointing out that the days of deceitful politics was over.

“I don’t know why the Amaechi-led faction of the party continues to deceive their supporters. That was how I was once deceived in the run up to the last general elections and we were given a national embarrassment.

“It later dawned on us that we were not on the ballot. We were deceived all along. The days of politics of deception are gone. We are now standing up to those on high horses to tell them ‘no, you can’t deceive us anymore.’

“You cannot run APC as if it is a personal property. You cannot run the APC as if you incorporated it for you to access patronage for you and your family and a few of cohorts and friends.

“APC is a party all of us founded together, sacrificed for. We took bullets for the APC. One person cannot come out to say people who are not okay should pack out.I cannot build a house and pack out of it. All of us participated in building the APC, so one man cannot wake up and say he owns the party. Punch
