The Ogun state government is set to file criminal charges against Abubakar Adamu, the driver of the stationary truck involved in the road crash that claimed the lives of Anthony Joshua’s friends last December.
During the court proceedings on Thursday, D.O Ogunyomi, Ogun state senior counsel, took over the case involving Adeniyi Kayode, the driver of the crashed Lexus sport utility vehicle (SUV) that was conveying Joshua and his friends to the state.
Ogunyomi requested that the state seek to consolidate the charges against both drivers, Adamu and Kayode, involved in the accident.
The legal advice from the Ogun Department of Public Prosecution (DPP) was read in court.
The Ogun DPP recommended that Kayode be tried for reckless driving, alongside the truck driver.
