Anxiety as CNG bus explodes at Kaduna motor park

A bus powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) has exploded in Mando motor park in Kaduna state.

The fire from the CNG bus affected at least two luxury buses parked in the motor park.

The incident happened around 3am on Sunday.

A statement by Mansir Hassan, Kaduna police spokesperson, said the luxury bus, belonging to Silver Luxury Travel, exploded due to overfilled gas tank.

Hassan said no casualty was recorded during the incident, adding that police detectives have been mobilised to the area.

“On 5th April, 2026, at about 0300 hours, a loud sound was reported at Silver Luxury Travel, a luxurious bus traveling company, located at Mando motor park, where vehicles used gas instead of diesel or petrol,” the statement reads. Thecable
