Bandits invade Katsina village, kill three

SUSPECTED bandits reportedly killed three persons early Monday morning at Maikwama village in Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Residents said the bandits stormed the village; late Sunday night during a downpour and left early Monday morning.

They (bandits) were also said to have stolen food items and rustled a large number of cows during the attack.

Residents also revealed that another group of bandits had earlier on Sunday kidnapped one Alhaji Kabiru from a neighbouring village; Kurmin Chakara, also in the same council.

The spokesman for the Katsina Police Command, Gambo Isah, has yet to react to the development as of the time of filing this report.

Governor Aminu Masari’s Special Adviser on Security, Ahmad Katsina, could also not be reached for comments.

Recalls that some communities in the state, including Katsina, Yantumaki, Yankara and Yangaya, recently protested against renewed insecurity in the state. Punch
