The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a suspected ritualist, Samson Oghenebreme, found in possession of human organs at Odomola community in the Epe area of Lagos State.
The command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement on Friday, said the 25-year-old suspect was arrested on April 25 after operatives attached to the Odo-Noforija Division received credible information from members of the public about his suspicious movement.
He added that a preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect was transporting the organs from Edo State to a native doctor for money-making rituals.
Hundeyin said, “Operatives of Odo-Noforija Division have arrested one Samson Oghenebreme, aged 25 in Odomola community, Epe, for being in possession of human organs. The arrest which happened on April 25, 2025, followed the receipt of credible information from members of the public about the suspicious movement of the suspect.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect was transporting the organs from Edo state to a native doctor for the purpose of money-making rituals.”
He added that the recovered human organs had been deposited at the General Hospital in Epe for preservation, while the case had been transferred to the Edo State Police Command for continuation of investigation and prosecution.
The police image maker further disclosed that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, had commended the swift response of the operatives and the vigilance of the Odomola community.
He noted that the CP emphasised the importance of timely information sharing, which played a vital role in the prompt apprehension of the suspect. Punch
