Enugu air plane
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) says an aircraft operated by Enugu Air experienced a fault with its nose-landing gear while arriving at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport from Lagos.
FAAN, in a statement signed by Henry Agbebire, its director of public affairs and consumer protection, said the incident occurred at about 19:10 hrs on Thursday during landing on runway eight at the airport.The authority said the aircraft, with the registration number SN-BZN, became immobile on the runway shortly after landing.Agbebire confirmed to TheCable that the aircraft is owned by Enugu Air.
“Emergency response teams were immediately mobilised and were on scene to ensure the safety of occupants and to secure the aerodrome,” the authority said.
“FAAN’s airport emergency resources, including fire tenders and medical standby, were deployed as standard procedure.“All passengers and crew were safely disembarked and evacuated to the terminal, using the Apron buses. Evacuation was completed without injury and concluded at 19:48 hrs.” Thecable
