Lamido
Former Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido, has urged the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party to expel the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and former Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom, from the party.
Lamido also called for the expulsion of former Abia State governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, alleging that the trio had committed anti-party activities.
The ex-governor, who made the remark during Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, argued that Wike and others deserve the “big stick” for openly campaigning for the All Progressives Congress victory in the 2027 general election.
“All those erring members, the Wikes, the Ortoms, the Ikpeazus and others, who openly campaigned against the PDP in the 2023 elections, and who say that they are going to work for APC in 2027, should be sacked from the party,” he said.Lamido expressed frustration at what he described as a long-standing culture of impunity within the party, recalling that from the 2022 primaries to the 2023 elections, some members, driven by personal ambitions, turned against the PDP because they felt their individual interests were not addressed.
