Female passenger’s assault: NBA, others condemn Ibom Air

A storm of public outrage has continued to trail the rough treatment of a female passenger aboard an Ibom Air flight, with the Nigerian Bar Association, civil society organisations and political figures condemning the airline over what they called a reckless, unlawful and dehumanising scene that “threatens the fabric of justice and human dignity in Nigeria.”

The passenger, Ms. Comfort Emmanson, became the centre of a nationwide controversy following a now-viral video showing her being forcefully removed from an Ibom Air aircraft last Sunday.

In the video sighted by our correspondent, Emmanson appears partially stripped of her clothes, while being physically dragged by aviation security officials amidst protests from some eyewitnesses.

Though the passenger was shown in a video slapping and taunting a female official of the airline, until the time of this report, her side of the story has not been heard. Punch
