Four more persons have been reportedly killed in the Enugu metropolis as a fresh cult war rages in the state.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the victims were killed in the Garrik and Ugwuaji suburbs of the state.

Our correspondent reported on Monday that the leader of the Aro Mates, aka The Vikings, was killed at the Relay Railway Quarters on Friday by members of a rival cult, suspected to be the Air Lords, aka The Supreme Eiye Confraternity.

Although the cause of the fresh crisis has not been known, the Aro Mates, launched a reprisal and killed three Eiye members in Garrik and Ugwuaji suburbs. One of their members was said to have also died during the duel.

A security source told our correspondent that two Eiye members were killed in Ugwuaji on Wednesday, while one was killed at Garrik on Tuesday, before the cult also retaliated and killed a member of the Aro Mates.

“Some members of the groups that escaped death were seriously wounded and they are in hospitals in remote areas,” he added.

Meanwhile, the police confirmed the fresh war between the two cults, but could not provide the actual number of persons killed so far.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Aliyu, said many members of the cults had been arrested and would be paraded on Friday.

Aliyu said there would be no hiding place for cult members in the state.

He said, “We don’t know why one group is targeting the other; we have launched a manhunt for them. Punch
