INEC declares Makinde winner of Oyo Governorship Election

The Oyo State Governor and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Seyi Makinde, has been declared winner in all 17 Local Government Areas out of 18 announced so far by the Independent National Electoral Commission in the just concluded governorship and State House of Assembly election.

Makinde, who was seeking re-election, on Saturday, contested against a three-term Senator, Teslim Folarin, and Adebayo Adelabu, former deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria.

The announcement of the results was monitored by the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Tella Adeniran, alongside the state returning officer, Olusola Kehinde, and heads of security apparatus in the state.

The commission has, however, gone for one hour break. The break was announced by the electoral commissioner.
