Group begs FG: Hasten release of Kaduna students kidnapped since 2021
The Parent-Teacher Association of Nigeria, on Tuesday, asked the Federal Government to hasten up the release of 12 students taken hostage by terrorists since 2021.
Among those taken hostage were the female students of the Federal Government College, Yauri, Yobe State and the only remaining student of Bethel Baptist High School, Kaduna.
The renewed appeal followed the release of the last batch of the 23 Abuja-Kaduna bound AK-9 train passengers abducted on March 28 by terrorists.
According to the National President of PTAN, Alhaji Haruna Danjuma, the Government should apply the same pattern used when securing the released of the kaduna -Abuja train abducted passengers in rescuing the abandoned female students of the federal government college, Yawuri and Bethel Baptist High School, Kaduna.
Danjuma who spoke to newsmen in Kaduna, expressed concern over a viral video trending in the social media, showing a female students of the Federal Government College, Yauri, being conscripted in banditary and brandishing AK-47 guns.
“These kidnapped female students were seen carrying all sort of war weapons which is really dangerous for their future. They have been in the terrorists den for over one year,” he said.
The PTAN boss expressed shock and disbelieve “seeing kidnapped, abandoned secondary school girls holding all sort of dangerous weapon, calling on their parents to come to their aids.”
“Their lives is in serious danger and as they are now exposed to dangerous weapons and notorious people sorrounding them,” he added.
While commending the federal government for the release of Abuja-Kaduna train victims, reminded the government of “the kebbi school students and the remaining student of Bethel Baptist, Kaduna.”

to as a matter of urgency “try all their possible best to rescue our kidnapped children in the hands of terrorists.”
He said, “We saw our children carrying dangerous weapon and this is not really good for parents and the society. We as Parents Teachers’ Association of Nigeria expressed sadness with the latest trending video on social media showing our kids carrying war weapons and crying for help.
“Use the same wisdom, skills and pattern used in rescuing the Abuja-Kaduna train abducted victims to secure the released of our abandoned female school students that are still in captivity for over one year.”
In the trending video, one of the Girls who spoke in Hausa, said, “Daddy come and help us get out of here please. We were kidnapped, being in the bush. Please help us daddy. If not, you will never see us again. Pay them daddy.”
No fewer than 11 remaining students of the Federal Government College, Yauri are still held captive while only one student of the Bethel Baptist High School is left with their abductors. Punch
