Gunmen kill two, abduct four in Gombe

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, on Sunday condemned the gruesome murder of two residents, Yusuf Daddy and his sister Faiza, in Pindiga town, Akko Local Government Area, describing the attack as barbaric, cruel, and utterly unacceptable.

The killings, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday, were accompanied by the abduction of four other persons.

In a statement issued by the Director-General of Press Affairs at Gombe Government House, Ismaila Misilli, the governor said the targeting of innocent citizens in their homes, alongside the kidnapping of women and children, constitutes a heinous crime that affronts humanity and undermines the peace and security the state has worked to maintain.

“This dastardly act is a direct assault on our collective conscience and a painful test of our resolve to protect lives and property. The government and people of Gombe State share in the grief and anguish of the affected families and the entire Pindiga community,” the statement read. Punch
