Actress/musician Courtney Love announced on Saturday  that she was “eternally banned” from a leading Hollywood talent agency for a 2005 comment she made about disgraced executive Harvey Weinstein.

Editors at TMZ unearthed footage of the former wife of late Nirvana star Kurt Cobain being interviewed by reporter and The Do-Over actress Natasha Leggero over a decade ago. In the clip, filmed on the red carpet at U.S. TV network Comedy Central’s Roast of Pamela Anderson, Natasha asked The People vs. Larry Flynt star Courtney for advice for young actresses like herself trying to make it in Hollywood.

Courtney answered unsurely, “Ummm, I’ll get libeled if I say it,” but then after a pause, she continued, “If Harvey Weinstein invites you to a private party in the Four Seasons (hotel), don’t go.”

The Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, California is a favourite luxury spot for top acting talent and industry executives when they are staying in Los Angeles.

Courtney responded to the clip’s release on Twitter on Saturday, writing, “Although I wasn’t one of his (Harvey Weinstein’s) victims, I was eternally banned by (talent agency) CAA for speaking out against #HarveyWeinstein #rape”. She also linked her post to the footage of her comment posted by bosses at TMZ.

Natasha, who stars in U.S. TV network Comedy Central show Another Period, also responded on Twitter on Saturday, writing, “I forgot that Courtney (Love) told me to stay away from Harvey Weinstein 12 years ago.”

And on Friday night (13Oct17), British comedian and U.S. TV host of The Late Late Show James Corden emceed the AmFAR Gala Los Angeles at a private estate in the city, and did not hold back in joking about Weinstein.

Though late-night U.S. TV comedians and hosts were criticised last week (ends13Oct17) for not commenting on the Weinstein scandal, Corden began his hosting job by announcing, “It’s a beautiful night here in L.A. (Los Angeles). So beautiful, Harvey Weinstein has already asked tonight up to his hotel to give him a massage.”

He included at least two more jokes at the shamed mogul’s expense in front of a non-television audience at the glitzy fundraiser for AIDS research which honoured Julia Roberts and was attended by many A-list stars including Tom Hanks, Goldie Hawn, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Fergie, and Sean Penn.
