INEC boss keeps mum after meeting Osinbajo

 

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday met with the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mahmood Yakubu, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting was held barely three days to the governorship election in Anambra State.

The election is scheduled to hold on Saturday.

The meeting started shortly after Osinbajo presided over the weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council in the absence of President Muhammadu Buhari who was on a two-day visit to the South-East.

In the absence of Buhari, Yakubu might have seized the opportunity of the meeting to brief Osinbajo on the commission’s preparations for the Anambra election.

The INEC boss did not speak with State House correspondents at the end of the meeting with Osinbajo.

The Vice-President’s media office has yet to issue a statement on the meeting as of the time of filing this report. Punch
