There is excitement in the football community in Owerri ahead of the inter state friendly match between Covid-19 Stay At Home Keep Fit team and Lagos All Stars slated to hold at the Dan Anyiam stadium on Saturday, July 10.
The match which has been tagged “Mother of All Football Friendly Matches  East of the Niger”, is slated to kick-off  at 8.30 am with executive Governor of Imo state, Hope Uzodinma and former Lagos State Governor now Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola as special guests of honour.
Other special guests include Hon. Chyna Amara Iwuanyanwu, Deputy Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Mazi Amanze Uchegbulam, Chairman Imo State Football Association and Chief Patrick Ekeji, Deputy Chief of Staff (admin) to Imo State Governor.
The rest are Hon. Dan Ogu, Commissioner of Youth and Sports, Imo State, Evangelist Mike Ikoku, Chairman All season Hotels Limited, Chief Aaron Ogbo, CEO Aaron Suites Palace Hotel, Enugu, Abutu Yaro, Commissioner of Police, Imo State and Chief Promise Oforemezie, CEO of Prossy Investment Nigeria Limited.
The match would see Super Eagles legendary players take to the pitch to thrill fans with their footballing talents. Notable among them are former Super Eagles and Arsenal forward Nwankwo Kanu, Ifeanyi Ekwueme, and Ndubuisi Opara who are expected to feature for the Covid-19 side.
 Also listed are Emeka Nwanna, Friday Onyeukwu, Fidelis Ilechukwu and a host of others, while the like of Victor Agali, Mba Agbai and ex-junior international, Ugochukwu Ibekwe as well as several others will play for the Lagos All Stars.General coordinator and facilitator of the event, Ifeanyi Ekwueme told Newstap that all was set for the match.
“We have been working round the clock since the past few weeks in order to put all logistics in place. No stone would be left unturned to ensure that we have a well organized and successful match,” Ekwueme assured.
The Covid-19 and Lagos All Stars team will wear customized designed kits courtesy of Poland and Denmark based TICO/SELECT sports wear companies which were flown into the country Monday night through their African representatives (Emeks Sports and Boutiques Limited).
