Kwankwaso’s ally Jibrin meets Tinubu at Aso Villa

Abdulmumin Jibrin, a close ally of Rabiu Kwankwaso, presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), met with President Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja on Wednesday.

The meeting comes days after Kwankwaso, former governor of Kano, alleged that the south is being favoured in terms of infrastructure and development under the current federal government.Jibrin, a former member of the house of representatives, spoke to journalists after the meeting, saying the discussion focused on national unity and development.The visit comes amid rising speculation over a possible alliance between Kwankwaso and Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.

Asked if the meeting was part of defection plans to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Jibrin declined a direct answer but said “everything is open” and “a possibility”.
