Ndume
A weekend of renewed Boko Haram attacks has left eight people dead in Borno State, drawing condemnation from Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, who represents Borno South Senatorial District.
On Saturday morning, suspected insurgents struck Ngoshe, Gwoza Local Government Area, killing five farmers on their farmlands.
Later that night, gunmen raided the Mussa community in Askira/Uba LGA, murdering three youths and setting houses and shops ablaze.
The fresh wave of violence has plunged both communities into mourning and reignited concerns about persistent insecurity across the region.
In a statement issued on Sunday night, Ndume described the attacks as “heartbreaking and deeply painful,” while acknowledging the sacrifices of troops under Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar.
“I am profoundly saddened by these senseless killings. Our people, whose only pursuit is peace and livelihood, continue to fall victim to the cruelty of insurgents. Punch
