Obi preaches selfless service at Christian Chukwu’s burial

The Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has called on Nigerians, particularly public servants, to embrace selfless service, stressing that it is the surest path to being remembered with honour.

He made the call on Saturday while bidding farewell to former Super Eagles coach, Christian Chukwu, who was laid to rest in his country home, Obe, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.

In a statement on his official X handle, Obi described Chukwu, fondly called “Chairman,” as one of the country’s greatest sports figures whose life embodied humility, leadership, and sacrifice.

He noted that Chukwu’s career, which spanned decades as both player and coach at club, national, and international levels, was marked by uncommon sportsmanship and a legacy that will continue to inspire future generations. Punch
