Plateau: Police arrest 66 suspected cultists

The Police Command in Plateau State on Friday said its operatives arrested 66 persons suspected to be members of the dreaded Sara Suka cult group who have been terrorizing residents of the state.

They also recovered weapons from the suspects.

The state Commissioner of Police, Hassan Yabanet, who disclosed this while parading the suspects at the command’s headquarters in Jos said the suspects were arrested at different locations during the Sallah celebration.

He added that the command was working round the clock to protect the lives and property of the citizens.

He said, “I wish to most graciously announce to you that the Eid-El-Fitr celebration in the state was peaceful and devoid of any rancour or attack on worshippers. Punch
