Police arraign three for stealing from Berger Paints Nigeria

The Yaba Magistrates’ Court on Monday remanded three employees of Berger Paints Nigeria Limited for allegedly stealing their employer’s products and raw materials used in making cement.

The suspects, Victor Olasukanmi, James Odelade and Kehinde Ogundare, were arraigned on three counts of conspiracy, stealing and criminal conversion of funds.

They were remanded by Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun for 21 days at the Ikoyi Custodial Centre.

The prosecutor, Justice Enang, told the court that the first defendant was arrested on his way out of the company premises on May 23, 2023, with an exhibit.

He added that in the cause of questioning, the defendant opened up about his accomplices, who also work in the same department with him and how they usually share the proceeds from the sales of the raw materials.

Enang requested the court to remand the defendants for 21 days in the custody of the Police Special Fraud Unit, at 13, Milverton Road, Ikoyi, Lagos State pending the conclusion of the investigation.

Following the request of the prosecutor, Olatunbosun remanded the defendants and adjourned the case till June 26, 2023. Punch
