Police arrest man with human head, palms in Ogun

Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 43-year-old man, Idowu Ashafa, in connection with the alleged possession of a fresh human head and two human palms concealed in a nylon bag in Igbesa, Ogun State.

The arrest was carried out by operatives attached to the Igbesa Division under the supervision of Area Commander ACP Folashade Tanaruno, during a routine patrol in the early hours of April 17, 2026.

The spokesperson of the command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday.

Babaseyi said the suspect was intercepted during a routine patrol led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Solotan K. Owolabi.

He explained that preliminary investigation indicated that the suspect allegedly exhumed the remains from a grave at Ido Itekun Village, Igbesa, for ritual purposes. Punch
