Shame! Man pardoned for life imprisonment arrested for theft again

An ex-convict, Abdullahi Sadiq, has been arrested for alleged burglary and theft by the police in Katsina State.

Sadiq, aka Baba Razor, was said to have been sentenced to death by a Katsina State High Court for a crime he committed at a plaza.

The sentence was later commuted to life imprisonment and he was eventually granted pardon.

It was learnt that the suspect was involved in recent burglaries in the GRA and Kiddies Roundabout  areas of Katsina, where 169 crates of eggs and other items were carted away from a store.

The spokesman for the state police command, DSP Gambo Isah, said the suspect was being investigated at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.

He said after a month of regaining freedom, Sadiq was apprehended with a stolen motorcycle and sentenced to one month’s imprisonment.

According to Isah, Sadiq, after serving the sentence, was involved in the recent burglaries, leading to his re-arrest.

“The police have transferred the case to the SCIID for proper investigation and prosecution,” the police spokesman added.Punch
