A viral video has shown Jennifer Adighije, the managing director (MD) of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), presenting N20 million to actress Sarah Martins on behalf of Seyi Tinubu.

The controversy began last week when Martins alleged that officials from the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) unit harassed her during a charity outreach in the Ikate area of Lekki, Lagos.

She claimed the officials confiscated food, a cooking gas cylinder, and other items she was using to provide free meals for the less privileged.

The Lagos government, however, defended the officials’ action, saying Martins violated environmental and safety regulations by engaging in unauthorised street cooking on a public road median.

Following the incident, Martins took to Instagram to express her gratitude for the N20 million donation. She specifically thanked Seyi, the son of President Bola Tinubu, and the Noella Foundation — an organisation directed by his wife Layla.

However, Seyi dismissed the claim that he was the donor. In a social media post, he clarified that while he was aware of the situation, the donation itself came from a group of his friends.
