Two bodies found in Lagos canal

The Lagos State Police Command has opened an investigation into the mysterious death of two young men whose bodies were discovered in a canal along the LASU-Igando Road in the Iba area of the state.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the corpses, found in the early hours of Tuesday, had their hands tied behind their back, with blue trash bags knotted tightly around their necks. This is fuelling suspicion that they might have been tortured and suffocated before being dumped.

However, a lawyer who resides in the area but pleaded anonymity because of the sensitivity of the case, said the killings appeared ritualistic.

“I was passing the place yesterday (Tuesday) when I saw some residents gathered at the bridge. The bodies were so clean. It is obvious that they were killed somewhere else and dumped. Punch
