World Cup: France beat Uruguay 2-0

France became the first team to reach the World Cup semi-finals on Friday after an assured 2-0 win against Uruguay.

The 1998 champions took the lead from a Raphael Varane header towards the end of the first half and extended their lead when Uruguay goalkeeper Fernando Muslera made a terrible misjudgement dealing with a speculative Antonine Griezmann shot, spilling it into his own net in the second half.
