Zamfara killings: Anyim mourns

A former Secretary to the Government of the Federation and a Presidential hopeful, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, on Sunday, condemned the killings in the Anka and Bukkuyum local government areas of Zamfara State, by suspected bandits, on Saturday.

Describing the killings and the wanton destruction of property in the two council areas as barbaric and saddening, Anyim, said, “No one should have to live in fear in their own home.”

The ex-President of the Senate, stated this in a statement, on Sunday, adding that the nation owed the affected families and communities a safer and brighter future.

According to the statement, “It is with a heavy heart that I condole with the people of Zamfara State.

“The destruction of lives and property is barbaric and the interruption of their livelihoods is saddening.

“I mourn with the people of Anka and Bukkuyum LGAs, we owe the families and all other affected communities across the nation a safer and brighter future.

“I pray for a Nigeria where we all live in harmony and there’s absolute security.” Punch
