According to Fabrizio Romano’s post on Friday, the decision was reached following discussions between his club, Al Nassr, and the Portugal national team backroom staff, with both parties agreeing to prioritize the forward’s full recovery.

“Cristiano Ronaldo will not be part of the Portugal squad for the friendly games next week as he’s still injured.
Priority to full recovery after discussions between Al Nassr and Portugal backroom staff,” the post read.

Ronaldo is currently undergoing rehabilitation, and medical teams have opted against risking further complications ahead of upcoming competitive fixtures.
